Truong Hong son is an assistant professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Thuy Loi University, Vietnam. He earned a Master of Science degree in coastal engineering with Erasmus Mundus scholarship from Southampton University, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and Delft University of Technology (2012). He obtained a PhD in Environmental Fluid Mechanics from Delft University of Technology (2018). Before arriving at Thuy Loi University in 2021, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Korea Institution of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT) with Korea Research Fellowship (KRF) for outstanding foreign researchers (2019). His research interests include the turbulent flow, sediment transport, and the attenuation of waves in and around ecological systems such as mangroves, salt marshes, and coral reefs. His publications try to translate understanding of physical processes at small scales to the large scale of applications.
