Srivatsan Raghavan

Dr. Srivatsan Raghavan joined the Tropical Marine Science Institute, National University of Singapore (NUS), in 2008, after obtaining a PhD from the University College London (UCL). His primary research areas are under climate sciences – climate modelling, climate change and impacts. He has been the Lead Climate Modeller for several climate change projects commissioned to NUS.  At present, Dr. Srivatsan leads a project in collaboration with the Centre for Climate Research Singapore (CCRS) of the Singapore National Environment Agency that focuses on high-resolution climate projections for Singapore, as a part of the Third National Climate Change Study. Apart from climate research, Dr. Srivatsan has also been involved in climate impact studies over Southeast Asia (hydrology, crop modelling, food security). He also pursues climate-weather modelling initiatives on urban scales over Singapore.  In a Joint Appointment with the Dept. of Geography, NUS, he teaches courses related to weather/climate. He is a Core Researcher at the Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions at NUS. He is active in both national, regional and international (such as the CORDEX) climate research initiatives.
