Professor (Dr.) Sonajharia Minz is a Professor in School of Computer and Systems Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India. Minz began her career in 1990 as assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science, Barkatullah, University of Bhopal. She joined School of Computer and Systems Sciences in JNU, New Delhi, in 1992 and promoted as Professor in 2005 at JNU, New Delhi.

Her research area being Artificial Intelligence, she has applied AI, Machine Learning algorithms, and Soft Computing techniques for Data Mining. Currently her area of research focuses on Geo-Spatial Informatics. She published several research papers in national and international journals. As location aware services received attention by research community interested in geo-spatial informatics, she explored spatial analytics approach for change pattern analysis of multispectral and hyperspectral satellite data for disaster management disaster-risk analysis. As Vice Chancellor in a Jharkhand University Minz supported a research environment in Indigenous and Traditional Knowledge.
