Sherin Hassan Bran is currently a research assistant at the Atmospheric Research Unit (ARU) of the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) and a PhD student at Chiang Mai University (CMU) situated in the mountainous region of northern Thailand. His main research interest is in simulating air pollutant concentrations and understanding their optical and radiative properties using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model coupled with chemistry (WRF-Chem). He is also currently co-developing an air quality forecasting system for Thailand in cooperation with the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado. He earned his master’s degree at Cochin University of Science and Technology in Kerala, India and was a research fellow at the Department of Atmospheric and Space Science at Pune University in India.
