Sharifah Nabihah Jaafar is currently an associate professor at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She is an internationally well-known researcher in the area of renewable materials, polymers, and biorefinery. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UKM and a doctor of philosophy from the University of Natural Resources and Life Science (BOKU) Austria. She was honored with the Young Woman in Science Award (Materials Science), a part of the Venus International Women Awards given by the Venus International Foundation (2017) and an Australian-APEC Women Research fellowship (2018). She is also active in administration and community services. Her current focus is to utilize cellulose and carbon waste into microspheres and other high-value materials.
