Dr Rose Jane J. Peras is a Professor 2 and Chair of the Department of Social Forestry and Forest Governance, College of Forestry and Natural Resources, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Philippines. She has been teaching in the university for 17 years and has authored/co-authored refereed scientific publications and is a recipient of the 2020 CFNR Outstanding Researcher Award. She was involved in various capacities in more than 20 research projects. She earned her PhD in Forest Governance from The University of Tokyo, Japan.
