Dr Ramalakshmi Subbarayalu is an Assistant Professor (Research) in the Department of Bioengineering at Vels Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies (VISTAS), India. She holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Monash University, Australia, and has over ten (10) years of experience in bioprocess engineering and sustainable biotechnology. Her research expertise includes microbial bioprocessing, bioactive compound recovery, biosensor development and environmentally sustainable technologies. She is a recipient of the Australian Endeavour Fellowship and the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) Scholarship at Fukui University, Japan. Her work focuses on interdisciplinary research, international collaboration and translating scientific innovations into practical solutions for environmental sustainability and marine ecosystem conservation.
