Dr Malla is the Executive Director at Center of Research for Environment Energy and Water (CREEW), Nepal. His research interest includes the areas of water quality and treatment, biomass modeling, phytoremediation, soil-water systems, sustainable management of groundwater and climate change. Dr Malla has authored and co-authored over two dozen articles in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, newsletters and proceedings and has made over a dozen of presentations at international symposiums and conferences. Presently he has been coordinating collaborative groundwater research projects with the University of Yamanashi Japan in Kathmandu valley. Similarly, recently he has been involved in projects on river water quality monitoring, application of isotope techniques on evaluation of urban water supply, assessment of water supply and demand by sectors, delineation prioritization and preparation of sub-watershed management plans, groundwater recharge assessment, and study of groundwater environment awarded by JST/JICA, GoN/ADB, IAEA, APN, and USAID. Dr Malla received his PhD degree in Integrated River Basin Management from the University of Yamanashi Japan in 2010 and a master’s degree in Agricultural Soil Science from Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Rajasthan India in 2004
