Norfilza Mohd Mokhtar is currently Professor of Genome Medicine at the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She is the Head of GUT Research Group, which was recently designated as a ‘Research University Group’.  She is the Malaysian Microplastics & Health Consortium’s Assistant Chair, an Adjunct Professor at Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain and Visiting Professor at Management & Science University, Malaysia. She is also the medical advisor for Cotra Sdn Bhd. Her research interest is related to omics technology related to gastrointestinal diseases and the effects of environment on GUT health.
