Nonon Saribanon

Dr Saribanon was born in Bandung, West Java, and completed her bachelor degree at Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran, in 1990. She continued her postgraduate studies in Environmental Studies at Universitas Indonesia, graduating as Master of Science in 1994, and then studied Environment and Natural Resources Management to obtain her doctorate
degree from IPB University, graduating in 2007.

Nonon Saribanon is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Biology and Agriculture, Universitas Nasional (Jakarta), since 1991. She has a strong interest in conservation of natural resources, community-based conservation, and community development. Her current research includes ethnobotany, biodiversity studies, conservation, environmental issues, and ecotourism. She has published her research in national and international journals and has also written several books.
