Dr Nairwita Bandyopadhyay is the Head of the Department and an Assistant Professor of Geography at Haringhata Mahavidyalaya, affiliated with the University of Kalyani. A climatologist and disaster risk reduction specialist, her work focuses on climate resilience, hyperlocal weather forecasting, early warning systems, disaster risk communication, remote sensing and GIS. She is also the Founder and Director of the Meghduutt Foundation for Early Warning and Sustainable Development, working to make scientific climate and weather information accessible and actionable for vulnerable communities.
