Dr N.D.K. Dayawansa is a Professor in the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. She is a prominent academic and researcher in the fields of agricultural engineering, with a focus on application remote sensing and GIS in agricultural resources management. Her research interests are on applications of remote sensing and GIS in water resources management, land use/land cover changes and their impact on watershed functions, morphometric analysis of river basins, impacts of climate variability on irrigation systems, small tank cascades etc.  Prof Dayawansa is currently serving as the Head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering, University of Peradeniya.
