Ms. Maria Lourdes G. Ferrer is currently the Director of the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB). Also, she served as the Regional Executive Director of DENR MIMAROPA (2020-2021); Director of the DENR Policy and Planning Service Office (2017-2020); Director of the Program Implementation Unit Fields Operation Office (2013-2017); Deputy Executive Director and Officer-in-Charge of the Manila Bay Coordinating Office (2016-2017); and Director of the Foreign Assisted and Special Projects Office (2005-2012). In the various roles she held within the agency, Director Ferrer has proven outstanding leadership, and skills in planning, policy-making, and field operations for the environment and natural resources. She finished environmental management and policy courses at Galilee College in Israel and Macquarie University in Australia. She graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor’s in Business Economics and a Program in Development Economics. She finished her Master’s Degree in Environmental Management at the Philippine Women’s University. As an ERDB Director, she now takes the lead in formulating, coordinating, and evaluating integrated research, development, and extension agendas on the environment and natural resources, as well as other related cross-cutting concerns in support of the Department’s thrusts and programs.
