Dr Mohana Sundaram Shanmugam is an assistant professor in the Water Engineering and Management program at the School of Engineering and Technology, Asian Institute of Technology Thailand. His research interests include irrigation water management, groundwater recharge assessment, chemical leaching assessment, numerical modelling, remote sensing, and GIS applications. He has research publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals with Elsevier, IWA, ASCE, Springer, and Taylor and Francis publications. He has also presented his research work at various national and international conferences. His present responsibilities at AIT include teaching at the graduate level and supervising research projects at the graduate and postgraduate levels. He has received best student paper awards from the Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE) conference and HYDRO conference held at Ranchi and Mumbai in 2009 and 2012, respectively.
