Lormelyn E. Claudio

Director, Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau

Lormelyn E. Claudio is a seasoned environmental management professional with an extensive career in public service. She currently serves as Director IV of the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB) under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Prior to that, she held numerous leadership positions in the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) across various regions, including Regions 8, 7, 6, 3, 2 and MIMAROPA, demonstrating her expertise in policy development, environmental planning and sustainable resource management.

A distinguished scholar, Director Claudio earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Planning from Maryknoll College (now Miriam College) and pursued graduate studies at the Philippine Women’s University, completing coursework for a Master of Science in Environmental Management. Her academic excellence was evident early, having graduated as Valedictorian and Salutatorian from her elementary and high school education.

Her professional journey includes key leadership roles such as Regional Director of the EMB in multiple regions, where she led initiatives on environmental impact assessment, pollution control and sustainable development. She has actively participated in national and international environmental conferences and training programs, further solidifying her reputation as a thought leader in environmental governance.

She has also received numerous awards and recognitions for her contributions to environmental sustainability and policy implementation, including commendations from the Commission on Audit (COA), the National Museum, and Miriam College.

With a career spanning decades in government service, Lormelyn E. Claudio continues to strongly advocate for sustainable environmental policies, innovative management solutions and proactive community engagement in environmental conservation.
