Dr Kobsak Wanthongchai, Dean of Faculty of Forestry, Kasetsart University. He got bachelor and master degree in Forestry at Kasetsart University, Thailand in 1994 and 1998, respectively. In 2008, He got PhD in Silviculture (fire ecology) from The University of Freiburg, Germany. He has been working on forest fire ecology and fire management for almost 20 years, especially fire ecology and fire behavior in swidden farm, and peat forest. He also interested in peat swamp forest ecosystem, in particular peat fire that recently occurs and caused huge mount of carbon released to the atmosphere.
