Dr. Khairunnisa Ahmad Kamil is a lecturer at the Universiti Teknologi MARA, Perlis Branch, Arau Campus, Perlis, Malaysia. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (B.App.Sc.(Hons.)(Aquatic Biology), USM) in the year 2007. She is currently teaching subjects related to ecology, biodiversity and ecosystem conservation. She always has a big interest in transdisciplinary studies thus furthered her postgraduate study in Environmental Management (M.Tech, UM) and a doctorate degree in Natural Resource Economics (PhD, UWA, Australia). Her exposure and knowledge in biology, environmental science and economics fields have allowed her to see a bigger picture in exploring solutions to environmental problems. Her current research interests include both biology and economics areas (non-market valuation, pollution control, policy studies, etc.); focusing on marine and other aquatic ecosystems. She is actively authored and co-authored scientific articles including peer-reviewed journals.
