Jonathan BRENES S.

Jonathan Brenes holds an MSc. In Environmental Sciences and Policy from the Central European University and the University of Manchester. He also has a BSc. In Environmental and International Studies from Sewanee: The University of the South. At the Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT-RRC.AP), he has worked to lead and support the design and delivery of capacity and knowledge-sharing activities on climate change adaptation planning in support of countries in the region with a wide range of partners including the Ministry of Environment, Government of Japan; Green Climate Fund Secretariat; the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies, and the Asia Pacific Network on Global Change Research (APN), among others. He has supported a variety of community-centered environmental stewardship and climate-resilience initiatives in various capacities including at the Monteverde Community Fund and Center for Urban Sustainability in Costa Rica. He has also led youth engagement in South and Southeast Asia on renewable energy transitions as a co-founder of the Sustainable Energy Youth Network, in collaboration with AIT-RRC.AP.
