Jin Young Kim

Dr Jin Young Kim is currently the Director-General of Climate and Environmental Research Institute, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Korea. The KIST has started atmospheric measurement studies from the middle of the 1990s. She has actively participated in those studies since she joined the KIST in 1994. She has been working on both modelling and measurement studies and it has given her a unique opportunity to fully understand the overall and important features of atmospheric phenomena. Her research interest covers overall atmospheric environment and climate issues including fine particle pollution, hazardous air pollutants, long-range transport of air pollution, urban air pollution, climate change science and atmospheric environment policy. Now she is leading the Climate and Environmental Research Institute in KIST to develop innovative technologies for climate and environmental adaptation.
