Dr Hoysala N. Chanakya is currently serving as a professor and Chief Research Scientist at the Centre for Sustainable Technologies, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. His expertise is in biological waste management research with over 50 publications. He has been a pioneer in the development of biogas technology for effective waste treatment and management. He has served as a Technical Advisor to various regulatory bodies in Karnataka state as well as in national level implementing bodies.
