Giles Bruno Sioen

The University of Tokyo

Dr Sioen is a Project Lecturer at the Sustainable Society Design Center, The University of Tokyo, and Co-Lead for Research and Innovation at Future Earth. He previously worked at the National Institute for Environmental Studies (Japan) and UNU-IAS. His expertise spans sustainability science, planetary health, urban and landscape systems, and climate adaptation, with a strong focus on transdisciplinary approaches. He has served as Coordinating Author for 10 New Insights in Climate Science, Co-Lead of the Biospheres Initiative, and Review Editor for the IPBES Nexus Assessment. His current work develops scenarios for the water–food–environment nexus and nature-based post-disaster recovery.
