Diep Phan

Vietnam Institute of Fisheries Economics and Planning

Phan Thi Ngoc Diep is a professional scientist at Vietnamese Institute of Fishery Economics and Planning (VIFEP) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD). She obtained PhD and MSc in Ecological Marine
Management at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. In 2001, she obtained MSc in Environmental Science at Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Since 2004, as a professional scientist on fisheries management and protection of marine environment at VIFEP, DrMs. Phan has contributed to the success of many subjects, topics and projects of the Institutefisheries co-management at the local level. She also works as a consultant in projects related to the environment and fishery under Mekong Economist, IUCN, ADB, SWECO, and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), which aim to combine fisheries activities with environmental protection and livelihoods improvements for the fishermen.
