Dhundi Raj Pathak

Center of Research for Environment Energy and Water

Dr Dhundi Raj Pathak serves as the President of the Center of Research for Environment, Energy and Water (CREEW), a scientific research-based organization established in Nepal in 2008 and a visiting faculty at Tribhuwan University (TU), Nepal. Dr Pathak is also currently involved as a waste management planning expert for undertaking the research project titled “Towards Brown Gold: Re-imagining off-grid sanitation in rapidly urbanizing areas in Asia and Africa,” funded through the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF). Beside this research project, he is working at the World Bank and other several organizations in the field of integrated waste management and landfill engineering. Dr Pathak holds a PhD in Geoenvironmental Engineering from Japan and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Institute of Engineering, TU in 2001, and a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the same institute in 2005. He has received the Nepal Bidhya Bhusan Award ‘A’, and the Nepal Bidhya Bhusan Class ´B´ medal for his outstanding performance (rank 1) in Master in Geotechnical Engineering. He has received several fellowships and grants and published nearly two dozen peer-reviewed articles along with several international presentations. He is a reviewer for several journals that focus on environmental engineering.
