Dr Dek Vimean Pheakdey currently serves as Deputy Director of the Hazardous Substances Management Department at the Ministry of Environment of Cambodia. He earned his PhD in Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science from Hiroshima University, Japan.
Dr Pheakdey has extensive experience in municipal solid waste and hazardous substances management, with a strong focus on plastic pollution, One Health and antimicrobial resistance. In addition to his national responsibilities, he serves as the National Focal Point for the ASEAN Working Group on Chemicals and Waste and contributes as a member of the Secretariat of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee for One Health in Cambodia.
