Dr Chris Jacobson is an interdisciplinary social scientist internationally recognised for contributing to resilience and adaption. She has worked as an academic and development program leader across the Asia-Pacific region, focussing on Cambodia and the Pacific Islands. The thematic focus of this work is on understanding resilience and identifying opportunities for improving food security and the livelihoods of smallholders. Her research has contributed to the UN Satoyama Initiative, IPCC reports, pacific agriculture policy, and improved food security in the region. Dr Jacobson has held adjunct appointments at the University of Queensland, Australia and with the Australian Centre for Pacific Islands Research, University of the Sunshine Coast. She developed the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s ASEAN flagship project, led DFAT and EU projects and has consulted for FAO & IFAD.
