Dr Chandreyi Sengupta is a geographer specializing in political ecology and policy research with
10 years of research experience. She has extensive experience (>12 years) working with
Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities across India, focusing on resource management,
power structures, and governance. She has worked extensively on conflict-induced risks, losses
and damages in her doctoral thesis. Her research also includes climate change adaptation,
livelihood strategies, and socio-environmental conflicts. She is currently working as Senior
Research Officer at the South Asian Forum for Environment (SAFE) and is involved in various
projects on climate-resilient agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and livelihood augmentation.
