Dr Brian Stockwell has been based in the Discipline of Marine Studies at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji since 2018, where he is a Lecturer in Marine Studies. His research focus is on marine conservation genetics and tropical fisheries. He completed his PhD at Old Dominion University in Virginia and studied the recovery rates of herbivorous fishes in no-take marine reserves in the Philippines. Additionally, he has an MSc from James Cook University, where he studied coral genetics and ecology.
