Dr. Binod Pokharel is an Associate Professor in the Central Department of Hydrology and Meteorology at Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Dr. Pokharel completed his PhD from the University of Wyoming. His research areas are mountain meteorology, winter orographic cloud seeding, extreme weather, climate variability and climate change. His other interest includes transboundary transport of air pollution and forest fire research. He is currently working on a sub-seasonal scale drought and fire weather forecasting model, validation and bias correction of CMIP6, and the development of a citizen science program, particularly in Nepal. His previous work also focused on a research-to- operation project that developed a cloud-seeding weather forecasting model and tools for Utah, USA.
