B.G.N. Sewwandi

Dr Sewwandi is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Conservation and Management at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. She holds a PhD in Environmental Science and Infrastructure Engineering from Saitama University, Japan, an MPhil in Integrated Water Resources Management, and a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. She specialises in water resources management, heavy metal contamination, climate change, and the application of novel and nature-based solutions for environmental remediation and urban environmental management. With a strong multidisciplinary background, Dr Sewwandi has published extensively in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals (Q1 & Q2) and has received Senate Honors and Vice Chancellor’s Awards for her research excellence. She has also served as an editor and reviewer for academic publications. Dr Sewwandi has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and actively engages in collaborative research with partners in Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Romania, UK, Portugal, and Japan.
