Dr Bapon Shm Fakhruddin is an internationally recognised water and climate expert with over 20 years of experience in climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, flood forecasting, multi-hazard early warning systems and science policy engagement. He currently serves with the Green Climate Fund (GCF) in the Republic of Korea, focusing on climate-resilient development, water security and climate information services. He has experience supporting governments, development agencies and communities in disaster preparedness, risk assessment and early warning initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. His expertise includes translating climate and hazard information into actionable decisions and strengthening people-centred, last-mile early warning systems.
