Ms Aashna Shakya, Research Associate (Affiliate) at SEN, received her M.Sc. in Environment and Natural Resources and B.Sc. in Environmental Science from Kathmandu University in 2018 and 2016 respectively. At an early stage of her career, while pursuing her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, she executed two action-based projects focused on sustainable farming practices funded by the Community Education Project of Kathmandu University, and The Green Generation of WWF Nepal. She has served as a Proposal Coordinator and has prepared grant proposals accepted by APN CRRP 2020 (current project), Fulbright Specialist Program 2020-2021, NAST Research Grant Program 2020, and UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme 2020. She was also involved in scientific analysis and report preparation of the March 2019 Southern Nepal Tornado as a research team member. She largely contributed to the hydro-meteorological analysis, and manuscript preparation for the APN funded project, Project Grant No. CRYS2017-01MY-Panthi.
