A conference on “Capacity building and experience sharing for enhancing sustainability in urban India‟ organised by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) will be held on 3 June 2015 at Juniper Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
The conference marks the completion of CBA2014-04NSY-Divya Sharma, a project being undertaken by TERI which was funded by APN through its Capacity Development Programme (CAPaBLE). The main activities of the project were conducted in four states in India (Uttarakhand, Goa, Odisha and Maharashtra) targeting the elected representatives and municipal officials from various urban local bodies (ULBs). The key messages from the project has also been synthesised and documented in a briefing paper which will be released during the conference.
Reflecting on relevant issues related to current scenario for skill building and capacity development in ULBs, the conference will explore the processes and approaches developed and implemented so far and deliberate upon the successes and challenges towards urban climate change resilience in India.
