Call for Participants: RegCM Training Workshop for Southeast Asia

The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), in collaboration with CORDEX Southeast Asia and a number of institutions including Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), The Manila Observatory, National University of Malaysia, WCRP CORDEX, MAIRS, and APN (through ARCP2014-07CMY-Tangang), is organising a “RegCM Training Workshop for Southeast Asia” to be held from 25-29 May 2015 in Manila, Philippines.

The use of RCMs over the Southeast Asia region has been relatively limited, partly because of the necessity to build know-how and computing resources in the region. This workshop aims at improving this problem by providing both theoretical and practical training on the use of RCMs over Southeast Asia. The workshop also intends to capacitate young scientists/researchers in regional climate modelling and build the community of users of the RegCM4 system for Southeast Asia region towards strengthening its participation to the Coordinated Regional Downscaling Experiment (CORDEX).

Application to the workshop is online and until 15 March 2015. The application form can be accessed via the ICTP activity page at: http://indico.ictp.it/event/a14269/
