Dr Kishneth Palaniveloo is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Ocean and Earth Sciences, Universiti Malaya. His multidisciplinary research spans marine biodiversity, natural product chemistry, chemical ecology, microbial community profiling and blue carbon science. He specialises in discovering bioactive compounds from soft corals and marine organisms, molecular biodiversity assessment, mangrove genetic diversity, and carbon stock assessment under environmental and climatic change. His mangrove research integrates remote sensing, environmental DNA (eDNA) and machine learning to assess blue carbon stocks, biodiversity and ecosystem condition, supporting sustainable coastal management and climate change adaptation.
