University of Kelaniya

Dr Lashya Manage is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, with experience in teaching multiple courses related to environmental science. She received her Ph.D. in 2019 from Aarhus University, Denmark, specializing in soil physics and hydropedology with applications in environmental management. From 2015 to 2018, she developed advanced skills in soil and water sensing using modern technologies such as digital soil mapping, mobile spectroscopy, and electro-magnetic induction as key tools for monitoring urban soils and environments. Since 2022, she has contributed as a researcher to the Aquaphotomics group at Kobe University, applying NIR spectroscopy for real-time urban soil and water quality assessment. She is the country representative for Aquaphotmics Global research network. From 2012 to 2013, she further led GIS-based hydrological modeling projects in China, focused on land use impacts in urbanizing regions, supported by international research fellowships of UNESCO.
