Dr. Fang Li is a full professor at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Her research focuses on Earth system modeling and its applications. Her fire model is the most widely adopted in global Earth system models. She developed the global gridded crop model GPAM, co-developed the Global Vegetation Dynamics Model (IAP-DGVM), and serves as co-chair of FireMIP, co-coordinator of the ISIMIP fire sector, co-chair of CMIP7 FireMIP, and lead author of CLM4.5, CLM5, and CoLM2024 technical descriptions.
