The 2012 international Planet Under Pressure conference organizer is seeking more session proposals specifically from developing countries,due to the limited number of proposals that come principally from these countries. Please help identify potential session convenors in your networks, and to encourage or assist them in submitting a proposal. Proposals need to be submitted by Friday 27 May to allow for sufficient time for review and any necessary revisions. -17 May 2011 FAO Launches Web Portal on Capacity Development on Climate Change. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) has a new web portal that focuses on learning materials and sources for capacity development on climate change. The portal aims to provide resources for member States, partners, UN staff and development actors to facilitate experience-sharing. The site includes FAO's Database of climate change related learning materials, integrated learning packages and training programmes offered by the FAO, e-learning trainings, an overview of climate related meetings, and a series of case studies from projects that focus on climate change capacity development. This is an international program which will convene professionals and young emerging leaders from Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, and the United States to explore the science, impact, adaptation, mitigation and actions related to climate change. This program is funded through USAID. Eligible participants from Australia, China, Indonesia, and Japan can come to the U.S. in either the Spring (April 3, 2011 - May 6, 2011) or the Fall of 2011.
