to review global change proposals submitted under its Annual Regional Call for Proposals (ARCP) and capacity development proposals submitted under its Scientific Capacity Building and Enhancement for Sustainable Development in Developing Countries (CAPaBLE) Programme.
The ARCP is one of the two scientific pillars of the APN supporting global change research in the Asia-Pacific region. The APN’s second pillar, the CAPaBLE Programme, supports capacity development activities/projects to enhance the scientific capacity in developing countries to improve decision-making in target areas related to global change and sustainable development. Both ARCP and CAPaBLE are competitive programmes, consisting of calls for proposals, reviews and award decisions.
The concept of an APN External Mail Review System was introduced in 2001 as an outcome of APN’s Inter-Governmental Meetings to implement a more effective review scheme for APN proposals. Under this review system we created a pool of scientists to review APN proposals in their chosen field(s) of expertise. With this in mind, the APN is now seeking your help in this process.
Reviewers can be global change scientists, global change organisations, neutral reviewers from inside or outside the Asia-Pacific region, previous APN project leaders and collaborators, current and previous APN Scientific Planning Group members, etc. Reviewers may come from a variety of scientific backgrounds in any aspect of global change. Please note that we are also looking for generalists.
If you are interested in becoming an external reviewer of the APN proposals a reviewer background information form in MS Word format can be downloaded below.
WE ALSO WELCOME OTHER NOMINATIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE AND ENCOURAGE YOU TO DISSEMINATE THIS INFORMATION AS APPROPRIATE.
Please return the completed form to our Executive Science Officer, Dr. Linda Anne Stevenson (firstname.lastname@example.org) with carbon copy to Ms. Ratisya Radzi (email@example.com) at the APN Secretariat.
