Summary of Project
This project has completed the first of its two-year phase emphasising monsoon circulation in relation to deltaic-coastal hazards and future mitigation. A pre-meeting and associated workshop in Hanoi, combined with the APN-IGCP475 Conference in Dhaka, were successfully held involving more than 160 participants from 18 countries. This unique forum demonstrated the results of delta-coast monsoonal processes and environmental hazard assessments. A project website (http://www.megadelta.ecnu.edu.cn) was also established to disseminate the project results and strengthen regional collaboration. The project leaders will exert more efforts to link government offices for effective communication toward better policy modification in the future.
