| Summary of Project |
This project will develop a computer tool capable of predicting the impacts of flood events and water quality on coastal areas in various countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The model will be made available, free of charge, to researchers in Australia, Bangladesh, Japan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Viet Nam which would help them assess risks and develop sustainable coastal zone management strategies. The project will provide a policy report detailing key issues and recommended specific action for each of the above countries in order to ensure sustainable management of coastal zone systems in the face of environmental impacts associated with climate change. This will result in enhanced institutional capacity of the participating countries. All the project activities are progressing well as per the proposed schedule. Every project collaborator is regularly consulting with the Project Reference Group (PRG) members to consider the stakeholders' view in various project activities. |
