| Summary of Project |
This project is quantifying the level of urbanisation from the aspect of land use and connecting land use patterns with urbanisation processes, which is a new attempt to integrate natural and social sciences in land use and land cover change. An international research team was built and a database and project website were established: http://apn.ueplab.cn. Eight young scientists from China, Viet Nam and the Philippines were trained on advanced methods of remote sensing technology and Geographic Information System (GIS) and urban landscape pattern analysis. The project published five peer-reviewed papers and is currently integrating these papers in a technical report for stakeholders and policy-makers. |
