| Summary of Project |
Urbanisation, as a major driving force of land use and land cover change, has been a significant contributor to global change. This project aims to explore quantifying urbanisation levels, from the aspect of land use, and to connect land use patterns with urbanisation processes in the three largest cities of three developing countries. This new strategy attempts to integrate natural and social sciences in land use change and cover studies. The project will build an international research team and a database, as well as provide land use/cover, ecological, social and economic data and information. Planned outputs of the project are papers for submission to peer-reviewed journals, based on case study analyses and assessments in the three core project countries. |
