| Summary of Project |
Changes in coastal zones and adjacent waters caused by salinity intrusion has been problematic, and is an emerging problem in many countries. This project aims to investigate changes in coastal zones, caused by salinity intrusion, and cover the catchments socio-economic trends and water bodies. The long-term salinity intrusion situation will also be assessed and predicted and then a simulation model, that will actively link the changes in the catchments socio–economic trends to the changes in waters of adjacent coastal zones, will be developed. The r esults of this project will be used as a tool to manage changes occurring in coastal zones which will be publicised and disseminated to relevant agencies through workshops. |
