Summary of Project

This project is an initiative of the Asian Neighbours Network: Training Through Research (TTR) program (collaboration between Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO and several Universities in the Asia Pacific). The French vessel, Marion Dufresne, will be available for the TTR for 10 days between April-August 2005 during transit from the Southern Ocean. Use of a modern research vessel and advanced laboratory facilities will provide training in a diversity of oceanographic techniques, data analysis and report writing for 30 student scientists. A week-long workshop will follow the cruise where students will analyse data, write reports and plan future work
