Summary of Project
This project, covering countries of the South Asia region, will complement the work previously done for SEA/TEA and Oceania region (under the APN project 2003-01- Manton) thereby leading to the development of a comprehensive picture for a major part of Asia. The state-of-the-art analytical techniques suitable for the identification of climate extreme indices and for their use in monitoring the trends in climate extremes will be transferred to countries of the South Asia region through a training workshop. The participating countries will then use these techniques to develop climate Extreme Indices most appropriate for the South Asia region and apply them to their respective countries.
