In this training course, climate specialists from National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) will learn a state-of-the-art downscaling technique for regional climate prediction. For the main part of the program, participants will develop downscaling packages customised for their home country, which can perform regional climate prediction based on APEC Climate Center (APCC) Multi-Model Ensemble (MME) global seasonal forecast disseminated via the internet. The training course will also give the participants the capacity to continue in the research and improvement of downscaling methods for regional use.
