The project targets underprivileged areas of the Greater Mekong Sub-region with the aim of training young researchers and young professionals on methods and approaches to Global Change and Sustainability research, policy dialogue between researchers and decision-makers, and dissemination. The project envisions creating a common awareness of problems, training the participants to provide solution at a specific and context-adapted level, and engaging them in problem-/issue-related networking activities. Aside from building the capacity of young researchers and professionals, case studies from underprivileged areas of the GMS will be published and a special issue of the International Journal of Global Environmental Issues on ‘Sustainability in the Greater Mekong Sub-region’ will be released.
