APN Secretariat Director visits the new national Focal Point for India

New Delhi, 16 August 2016 — Mr. Hiroshi Tsujihara, Director of APN Secretariat, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. J. R. Bhatt, Advisor, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, and APN national Focal Point (nFP) for India, on 16 August 2016. Dr. H.P. Borgaonkar, Acting SPG Member for India, joined the meeting.

Mr. Tsujihara welcomed Dr. Bhatt to APN as the new nFP for India and briefed him about the activities APN has been conducting since its establishment over 20 years ago. Dr. Bhatt confirmed the importance of APN for India and recognised that active involvement of APN members from India is crucial for realising the goals of APN.

Mr. Tsujihara also introduced the plan for the 2nd International Workshop on Waste Management and the 3Rs, to be held in New Delhi in March 2017. Dr. Bhatt kindly offered his support for the successful conduct of the workshop.
