Pan-Asia Risk Reduction (PARR) Fellowship Program

An international alliance of science-focused, research, education and capacity building organisations, formally known as the “PARR Alliance,” pioneers the Pan-Asia Risk Reduction (PARR) Fellowship Program which offers unique research, training and educational opportunities to Asian researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to enhance their capabilities for advancing and applying knowledge on critical issues of global environmental change (GEC) and risk reduction in the Asia-Pacific.

Themed “Urban Disaster Risk and Vulnerability Under Global Environmental Change,” the 2014/2015 PARR Fellowship Program brings together PARR Research and Practice-Policy Fellows into two-person teams for a six-month Fellowship experience, including one-month at a Host Institution.

The Program aims to fulfill the needs of the region for researchers, practitioners, and policy makers who are able to plan with foresight to address the increasingly complex challenges of GEC and risk reduction and management. Establishing a knowledge-to-action network of people and institutions capable of developing and implementing innovative approaches to planning and action at local, national, and regional levels, all PARR fellows and their institutions are involved in integrative activities that promote additional skill-building and the development of a cohesive network.

The APN is one of the members of the PARR Alliance and is supporting the Program through APN-funded project referenced as CBA2014-13NSY-PARR.
